Portals and Users
TBS includes several "Portals" based on the type of user logging into the system. All Users login using the same Login Screen. After the user is authenticated, the system will direct the user to the Portal associated with their assigned User Type. The portals are as follows:
Internal User Portal – This is the main system and allows users to perform various actions based on the user's security rights. Internal users navigate the system using the Main Menu. Internal users typically include:
- Customer Service
- Trouble Repair
- Provisioning
- Billing
- Accounting
- System Administrators
Customer Portal – This portal for used by Standard / Corporate customers. It provides users access to only their account information. Users can view invoices, make credit card or ach payments, view and optionally edit basic account info, and request changes. Specific permissions for this user can be maintained using the User Group Security tool. Note: Clients not yet migrated to the new Customer portal may still have the Legacy Customer Portal enabled.
Wholesale Portal – This portal is used by Wholesale customers. Wholesale customers have access to only their account information but can perform more tasks than Standard users if the security settings have been setup to do so. For example, they can add lines and trouble tickets, view lines, care codes, transmit files (CDR, Care, Orders, etc), view/pay invoices and run various Wholesale Reports. Specific permissions for this user can be maintained using the User Group Security tool.
Agent Portal – This portal is used by Agents and Internal Sales people. These users can view only the customer accounts associated with their Agent ID. They can view/print commission reports, add/view the status of their Orders, and run various Agent Reports. Specific permissions for this user can be maintained using the User Group Security tool.
